Welcome

Story of the Day

I Thought I Was Behind

For a while, I kept looking at my life like I had missed some invisible deadline.

You know the ones. The deadlines nobody actually gives you, but somehow you still feel late for them. By now I should have accomplished this. I should have figured out that. I should be further along, more settled, more certain, more… something.

Meanwhile, life was looking at my imaginary schedule like, “Girl, I never agreed to any of this.” 😂

Then one day it hit me: maybe I wasn't behind at all.

Maybe I was simply in the middle.

You're Not Behind
Maybe the Timeline Was Never the Point

At some point, most of us look around and feel like everyone else is ahead.

Someone has the career we want.
Someone found love.
Someone bought a house.
Someone seems to have life figured out.

Meanwhile, we're wondering if we're falling behind.

The problem is, we start treating life like a race nobody actually signed us up for.

The truth is that growth happens on different timelines. What takes one person two years may take another ten. What matters isn't how quickly we arrive—it's that we keep moving forward.

Some seasons teach us.
Some seasons stretch us.
And some seasons have us wondering who approved this lesson plan.

So if today feels uncertain, remember this:

You are not behind.

You are still becoming.

Reflection

What is one area of your life where you need to stop comparing your journey to someone else’s timeline?

Take a moment to write what comes to mind. Your words today may become part of the story you’ll understand differently tomorrow. 🌿
